Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height in the form of a shield blazoned as follows: "Argent, a bend sinister Azure (Teal Blue) charged with a lightning flash Or between in chief a buffalo Sable horned Argent to sinister and in base a North Star Gules." Attached below the device a blue designation scroll inscribed "VIGILANCE AND HONOR" in Silver letters.

Symbolism
The silver (Argent) shield denotes integrity and purpose. The black buffalo represents the strength derived from the personnel now forming the battalion. The bend sinister refers to the Third Brigade, teal blue denotes loyalty and vigilance. The lightning flash and North Star symbolize intelligence collection, signal capabilities and worldwide deployability. Gold and scarlet represent excellence and courage, respectively.
